It was a hot time at the Eagles Club Saturday evening as the Missouri Valley Chamber of Commerce hosted its Annual Chili Cook-Off.
Businesses and individuals enjoyed a variety of chilies and soups as judges sampled each concoction to determine this year’s winners.
Grand Champion honors went to Crossroads of Western Iowa’s Matt Smith for his “Chillax” chili.
Second place went to Paul “The Gooseman” Messerschmidt for his “Grandpa’s Kitchen” chili.
Third place went to United Country Loess Hills Realty & Auction for their “Boilermaker” chili.
Tracy Scott of Scott’s Electronics won the Mildest category with his “Down Home Chili.”
Scott Bade of Valley Arms won the Hottest award with his “.38 Special” chili.
Cristi and Russ Zack of Consumer Connection and Mark’s Music Karaoke won the Best Decorations award for their display of “Bone Chillin’ Chili.”
Longview Home won in the Biggest Briber award for “promoting” their “Longview Chili.”
