A Little About Me: My husband Bryan (or Petersen as I call him) and I live on a farm west of Cleghorn. My husband farms, has a cow/calf herd, and works one day a week at the Courthouse issuing CDL licenses. I’ve had different jobs, but seem to always come back to working with people with mental and/or physical disabilities, people with special needs and the elderly. God has truly blessed me with the privilege of being with our clients.
God has also blessed us with two wonderful children. Our favorite daughter, Baley, lives in Charleston, SC. She is an optometrist and is married to an amazing man, Elliott. They have a French Bulldog, Leon, who is unbelievably spoiled. Our favorite son Tucker, is a power lineman and lives in Aurelia. He’s getting married this August to a real sweetheart, Danielle. They have a cat, Piper, who rules their roost. We seriously wish our “grandchildren” had only 2 feet, instead of 4, but I’m sure that time will come!
Fun Fact: "Petersen" and I met in the crib--we were born just 19 days apart. Our parents were friends and played in the same card club for years as we grew up. We started kindergarten together. His mom was our 6th grade teacher and of course, we all thought he was the teacher’s pet. She had me in the hall many times scolding me for something I’m sure I didn’t do. In high school, we turned into that old cliche...he was the jock, I was the cheerleader. We started dating as sophomores and 36 ½ years later we’re still crazy about each other. (On a side note, my brothers both married their high school sweethearts too!!)
What I like most about working at Crossroads: The best thing about working at Crossroads is the interactions I get to have with our clients. They each have their own special way of brightening my day. I can be having the worst day ever, then one of them will come up and say hi or ask me how my day’s going and it just changes everything. Their attitudes about life puts me back on track and makes me count my blessings. I am truly blessed to be able to spend time with them.
